Artificial Grass: Helps Fighting Global Warming - Home - Home Accessories

One of the most serious issues we are addressing at present is Global Warming. Roughly been described as the increase in global temperature due to increase in Carbon Dioxide (the gas that absorbs infra-red rays from the sun and helps maintain the temperature of the Earth) level in the atmosphere, the global warming is leading to melting of glaciers and thereby the sea level. The erratic weather conditions, unpredictable changes in climate patterns and the shrinking of the planet are some of the effects of global warming. No doubt, after being evident to extreme weather conditions as well as to the ghastly natural disasters, it indeed is the most crucial time to be concerned about the problems of global warming. Everybody from governments of countries across the globe and the organizations like UN are doing their bit for environmental concern. But, it is we who could make it a little better by pouring in our simple efforts on a personal basis.

And, we could start doing so by following simple practices at home (A popular idiom says: Charity begins at home); say, we could start by installing artificial turf in our home lawns. Now, the question may arise: How an Artificial Grass could help in fighting global warming? The answers could be the following:

The petrol-driven land mower you use to mow your real grass lawn produces pollution that approximately equals to the pollution produced by a 100 mile car trip (the survey was conducted by Environmental Protection Agency in Sweden). If one gets to install artificial turf in lawns, he/ she may not need to mow the grass and thus would be saving a lot on pollution (the natural fuel as well) plus EFFORTS!

Next, a plenty of harmful chemical weedicides, pesticides and fertilizers are used to keep the natural grass fresh and lush all the time. The chemicals further (including grass clippings) get drained into nearby river along with the rain water complicating the entire issue (this may lead to water pollution and affect the wildlife eventually). Now, by installing cheap artificial grass one may need not to worry about cleaning the clippings and then covering them with mulch.

Moreover, during the process of cutting natural turf the harmful gases like hydrocarbons are released in the environment. This has been proved by the studies made by academicians in Australia. The hydrocarbons not only pollute the atmosphere but as well worsen the smog day. Of course, artificial grass UK would help in lessening these concerns.
