Artificial Grass And Fame - Home - Landscaping

Synthetic grass and artificial turf lawns and fields have gained their own fame over the course of time. With technological breakthroughs in engineering these products, this is, without a doubt, why they have grown tremendously in popularity. Aside from being used by many professional athletes, artificial grass and synthetic grass blends have made their way to many notable events over the years. Most recently, a synthetic grass and natural grass blend was used for a handful of FIFA World Cup 2010 games in South Africa. This type of pitch helped with durability for strong performance, as well as minimal maintenance in comparison to real grass professional soccer fields.

Aside from its appearance to billions around the world for the World Cup, artificial grass has also made its way to Hollywood. When one recalls the glitz and glamour of a Hollywood event, it is almost implied that a red carpet comes to mind. However, in recent times, this idyllic red carpet has been replaced by none other than an eco-friendly synthetic grass green carpet. Major industry events, including the Teen Choice Awards, the Latin Grammy's, the CW Launch Party, and many more have replaced the traditional red carpets with green carpets. When eco awareness is important, large Hollywood events employ the use of a green carpet as a way to get celebrities involved in going green. This helps to inspire society to adjust their lifestyles to be more sustainable.

Another recent event that employed the use of a "green" carpet is Major League Baseball's 81st Midsummer Classic in Anaheim. MLB partnered with the Natural Resources Defense Council to show its commitment to the environment. Though this carpet was not made of synthetic grass, it was made from 100% recyclable and renewable materials. This exemplifies the height of eco awareness in major sporting events other than the World Cup. Other major sporting fields using artificial grass include NFL's Gillette Stadium, one of 13 football fields using artificial grass. The NFL enjoys the eco-friendly aspect of artificial grass, as well as its ability to significantly lower energy and water costs. Artificial grass was also used at the prestigious Ferncroft Country Club's tennis courts, in Massachusetts, where many high profile players and celebrities frequent. This exclusive private club undergoes harsh weather conditions and thus found artificial grass to be most suitable to endure ex treme heat or cold. The court is the home court of the Boston Lobsters, part of World TeamTennis.

From sporting events to large entertainment industry events, it is evident that synthetic grass is a strong part of the eco awareness revolution. The fact that so many notable organizations, events, and people are involved further proves its potential benefits to green lifestyles. Artificial grass has clearly adopted its own fame both on the field, and in Hollywood, pushing aside classic red carpets and traditional playing surfaces for the better eco alternative. Since it's arrival, artificial grass will continue to make appearances on significant events as a reminder about sustainability and conservation among our modern society.
